Heat seeping into my pores,
Sun shining, radiating heat,
Trying to offset the winter cold,
Months of dreary weather,
Long-suffering surface dwellers.
Everything seems clearer,
Everything seems more real,
Treetops swaying in the breeze,
Reaching, clutching for the sun,
Majestic green sentinels of life.
The world awakening all around,
Flowers blooming, scenting the air,
Bugs and birds dance along,
To the vibration felt in everything,
The noise buzzing through our veins.
Cocooned for too long in our homes,
Eagerly seeking warmth and light,
Breath of life, Sun God, father of all,
Same matter, same stuff as all the rest,
All the way back to the very start.
