The mornings are beginning to get chilly,
Darkness is creeping further and further into the day,
As autumn nudges its way into my consciousness.
The seasons seem so skewed,
Everything is a bit off,
Dog days of summer lasted for a week.
Seventy degree days last January,
Spring without rain,
Endtimes approaching say the pundits.
Ironic that we may have started the process,
Spewing poisons into the air,
In honor of our thralldom to convenience.
Endtimes wrought by human hands and minds,
We use and abuse this world,
The one and only that we will ever know.
We own and attack,
Use and discard,
Without any thought for the future.
We have advanced and prospered,
For thousands of years,
Thinking that we shall for ever more.
But there will be an end time,
For this planet,
For this race.
All that is born shall perish.
All that we build shall crumble.
Time may be infinite but we are not.
